Which means Going To Do Something a Bit Silly syndrome. I have just started reading ‘Round Ireland With a Fridge’ by Tony Hawks, and it is pretty funny. He looks at marathons as GTDSBS, he see’ mountaineering as a bit GTDSBS and I’m guessing he see’s his own stupid venture of hitch hiking around Ireland with a fridge a bit GTDSBS.
Now here is my challenge. As Christians we should be undertaking daily doses of GTDSBS in the eyes of the world around us. Think about it. Giving 10% of what you earn to the church, loving the unlovable, putting you trust in the grace of Christ, church planting, ministry, evangelism, helping the needy. The whole Christian life should be filled with GTDSBS (in the eyes of the world).
I don’t want to instill a sense of works, but rather we should see these things as evidences of grace. And there is nothing silly about them, but they will be sacrifices, but what a joy it would be to live for Christ and to see all other things as loss.
