TOUR DE FRANCELast night in my church prayer meeting we talked about a lot of tough issues and we prayed for a lot of things. However one thing really stuck with me. The cross is VICTORY!

How often do we act, as Christians, as if we are fighting a losing battle? Do we live in victory or de we live in fear? This brings me back to missions week in a way. One observation was that we are fearful of what people will think of us, while we should be bold enough to boast in this glorious victory. […]

Let us consider some secular victories. I am a massive, and I mean MASSIVE, fan of Lance Armstrong. Now he won the Tour de France six times in a row. This is an awesome achievement in what is probably the toughest sporting event in the world! He boasts in victory. He is not living as if he is a loser.

How about the New Zealand All Blacks (not racist)? Now they never win in the world cup hakabecause they choke, but in normal test matches everyone knows they are going to win, and they have an arrogant manner about themselves full in knowledge that they will always be one of the best teams in the world.

So how do we live as Christians? Jesus has done it all. On the cross He paid for our sin, he conquered the grave and rose again. Let us man up and start acting in accordance to the truth. Are we losers? In a way yes, but Jesus is no loser, and through his grace and faith in Him we are victors!

Peace Out!

am Jamie, and I am a Christ follower. I love Jesus but more importantly he loves me and made the ultimate sacrifice of his son so that all the things I have done, and will do, have been forgiven. And now I know God, and I pursue to know him more. Motivated and transformed by his grace I live for God, to glorify him by enjoying him.

  1. Secular victories, plural. Mate, re-read your post before you make them live for all the world.

Which is more edifying, the blog or the banter. (Well clearly the blog, but the banter aint half bad either.)

Sammy is very fussy about words…

By the way i like your post here alot. for me my kneejerk reactions against what i think is theologically wrong can often mean that i shrink down the ways in which i talk about the cross.
Because i love PSA and think it is the core of the cross and because people question it a lot today, i usually focus on that and thus rarely talk about how Christ is our supreme Sin conqueror… what a great truth!
