Pierced By The Word III

dscn_1451_simcoe_sword_1020‘For the word of God is living and  active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.’

                                                                                          Hebrews 4:12 […]

The word of God is a living word! What an amazing passage! The bit that gets me going is how the word is like a sword sharp enough to cut right to the soul. Maybe I love it because I am a man, and I love anything which will talk about swords or battles (insert manly grunt).

But here is the question we must ask ourselves. Are we born of God and spiritually alive, or are discieving ourselves and spiritually dead? V12 tells us only the word of God can judge our thoughts and intensions in the heart.

So let us be pierced by the word of God, using it to know ourselves and confirm our spiritual life.

About

am Jamie, and I am a Christ follower. I love Jesus but more importantly he loves me and made the ultimate sacrifice of his son so that all the things I have done, and will do, have been forgiven. And now I know God, and I pursue to know him more. Motivated and transformed by his grace I live for God, to glorify him by enjoying him.
